This task was very helpful as presentations are something I'm not great at, and I got a lot of feedback from it. Personally, I did not believe the presentation went well as I was very nervous and wasn't clear with my communication, however it gave me the chance to look into an animation in a lot more depth which I enjoyed. In hindisght, the powerpoint looks good and is presentable as a standalone piece, but does not work well in a presentation.
The feedback from this task was:
- Make it shorter. I ran out of time in the presentation and had to be cut off before I finished. I need to plan in my practice that the actual presentation will take longer due to nerves and stumbling
- Structure the presentation in a way where if i do get cut off, I can play it off like it was meant to end like that
- The white on pink colour scheme was hard to read for Dotty, so I have to be careful of colours and text in future presentations
- My bullet points need to be a lot shorter and serve as quick reminders rather than full sentences, as to not distract the audience as well as give me more space to put pictures in. It is better to have more pictures and talk about them rather than have words, as no one reads them anyway
- I need to work on volume control - it was ok but a bit quiet when facing the audience, but became very hard to hear when I turned around to look at the screen
